Self managed website – $24.95 per month

If you can make changes to your own website, or have a database connected to your website, this is the plan you’ll need. Applies to sites run on WordPress, Joomla, and other content management systems.

Includes 10 e-mail addresses.

Online store – $49.50 per month

If you have an online store, or would like an online store from us, this is the plan for your business.

Includes 10 e-mail addresses.

Why does your web hosting cost more than others that charge $4.95 per month?

Other web hosting providers can charge low prices like $4.95 because they cut on quality.

Low cost providers cut corners with:

  • Slow customer service
  • Cheap and low quality equipment
  • More websites per server. You could be sharing the resources that make your website run properly with 1,000 other people

In contrast, we invest into our web hosting hardware and security to ensure that you have a reliable website that is running and safe from hackers.

We’re not the cheapest web hosts on the block. But that’s because we invest into providing quality services for our clients.

With the amount of additional security, customer service and hardware we invest into, we’d go bankrupt at $4.95 per month.

And just like you, we were curious how other web hosting providers were able to charge so little.

We signed up to a competitor– a large, reputable Australian company.

We paid about $4.95 per month, and in a one month period, this test website went down 14 times. Sometimes for a few minutes, regularly for longer, even hours.

The Truth about the “cheap” web hosting industry

The way web hosting providers are able to charge so little, is because they place an enormous amount of websites on a single server.

This is called “Shared Hosting.”

Imagine the web server as a house and websites as the people living inside this house.

If you invest into building a bigger, better house, you can have more people living there.

So just like a house, if you invest into better hardware and quality, more websites can be hosted on a single server without major disruptions.

But unlike a physical house that can shelter only a limited amount of people, a near unlimited number of websites can be “housed” in a single server.

So in reality, it doesn’t cost the web hosting provider more expenses to take on an additional customer at $4.95.

They just put that website on a server with a 1,000 other websites.

They don’t invest in additional hardware. Instead they place your website as a “room mate” with 1,000 other websites, jam packed into a single server.

As you can imagine, this can get messy pretty quickly.

With multiple websites all requesting for resources, it puts immense strain on the server.

That’s why websites hosted on $4.95 plans go down so often, because the server cannot support the amount of resources requested to it.

For every other “room mate” you share the server with, it decreases the amount of resources your website can get, resulting in down times.

This is the only economical way that a web hosting provider can feasibly sell web hosting at $4.95.

But is this a prudent business move for you?

We believe you should consider your website like a “online version” of a brick n’ mortar retail store.

During peak time of customers, the last thing you want, is for the power to go out.

Lights go out, Eftpos machines stop working and you lose mountains of potential revenue.

What a nightmare.

But this is exactly what happens when your website goes down, if you decide to use a “cheap” shared hosting plan.

And its far more likely to happen during peak hours, because all of the other websites you are “room mating” with, are also requesting lots of resources from the web server.

After all, they’re trying to get their website seen by their customers too.

The result: lost customers and lost revenues.

Is that worth $4.95 to you?

Or would it be a savvy and prudent business move to invest a little more into the infrastructure beneath your website?

At OPMC, we take the opposite approach to “cheap” and mass web hosting.

We want to provide the highest quality of web hosting we can for our customers.

To do this, we invest into our hardware. We don’t squish in 1,000 customers onto one server.

That’s why our pricing model needs to be a little higher than some competitors – because of our philosophy to provide reliable web hosting that is secure from cyber attacks and works when you need it to.

So what can OPMC offer you?

  • We offer personal service, you are only going to be speaking to one of several staff in our team so we know who you are.
  • We offer reliable and well maintained infrastructure to ensure better performance on your website.
  • Our service team deals directly with the technical team, which is part of the same business team. We all know each other well, so with us you’re not dealing with a local reseller who is selling you services from overseas they have little control over and poor support for themselves.
